Monster Cookies

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 ½ tsps. of baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp. of salt
  • 2 tsp. of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 ¼ cup of shortening
  • 4 cups of brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 ½ tsps. of vanilla
  • 6 cups of instant oatmeal
  • 3 cups of raisins
  • 3 cups of nuts (optional)
  • 1 ½ pks. of chocolate chips

Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix together: shortening, eggs, and vanilla then add the brown sugar to the mixture.

Add flour mixture.

Stir in oats, raisins, nuts, and chips.

You will have to mix by hand- it’s a tough job. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 325 – 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Lower heat makes a softer cookie.

NOTE: Per my little sister’s experience, I must mention that ***THIS RECIPE IS ALREADY DOUBLED!***
