Easy Roll Cookies

  • 1 cup of butter (margarine)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour

Mix butter and powdered sugar VERY WELL OR DOUGH WILL CRUMBLE (“very well” part is advice from Janis!). Add salt and flour. Blend together. Divid dough and make rolls. Roll between wax paper. chill serveral hours. Cut pieces evenly about 6/8 inches thick. Back at 350 degrees for 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.

Let cool.

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbps hot water

Mix frosting (above ingredients) together. If too thick, add a little water. Frost each cookie with touch of frosting. Top off with Christmas (decorative) sugar or jimmies.
