Beef Brisket

  • 3 lb beef brisket
  • 1 can beef consomme
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1 garlic clove

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine above ingredients (the marinade) and place in a pan with beef brisket. (13 x 9 or a deeper baking pan style will work.) Cover with aluminum foil and place in oven. Cook at 300 degrees for 2 hours – or 40 minutes per pound.

*HINT: If you’re cooking a bigger or smaller brisket, just increase or decrease the marinade mixture accordingly. The above is good for a 3lb brisket. For baking time, 40 minutes per pound is a good rule of thumb.
