  • Lasagna noodles (1 package)
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 can tomato paste (15-oz)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tsp garlic
  • 3 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • Ricotta cheese (1 pint)
  • Mozerella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper

Noodles:
Cook the lasagna noodles in boiling water with 1 tsp. of salt for about 8 minutes. Drain noodles and set aside.

Meat mixture:
1 ½ or 2 pounds of ground beef fried with chopped onion and 1 tsp. of garlic, 1 tsp. of oregano, and salt and pepper.
Add meat to sauce mixture.

Sauce:
In a large sauce pan put in the following ingredients.
1 can of tomato paste (about 15 oz.) and 3 cans of water
1 ½ tsp. of oregano
½ tsp. of pepper
1 1/2 tsp. of salt
1 tbsp. of sugar
1 tsp. garlic
1 ½ tsp. of basil
1 ½ tsp. of brown sugar
Then add the meat from above and cook on low for about 45 minutes.

Cheeses:
Mix ricotta cheese with 1 egg and 1 tsp. of garlic in a small bowl.
Grate mozzarella cheese.

Putting it all together:
Put some sauce on bottom of a 12 by 18 pan. Then layer with lasagna noodles. On top of noodles put meat and sauce mixture. Then add dollups of ricotta cheese about 12 dollops. Add grated mozzarella cheese and then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Repeat with two more layers. First noodles, then meat and sauce, and finally three cheeses. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. You may remove the foil after about 45 minutes. Take out of oven and let stand on top of stove for about 15 minutes. Bake Texas toast while lasagna is sitting.
