Mom’s Rice Pilaf

Ingredients:

1 cup rice

2 cans of beef consumme
2 beef bullion cubes and butter
single layer of vermicelli pasta
small can of sliced mushrooms plus juice
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a skillet, melt a chunk of butter, add 2 beef bullion cubes and make a paste.  Add a single layer of vermicelli pasta and stir until well coated and golden brown.
While that’s in the skillet, put the rice and 2 cans of beef consumme in an oven safe bowl and mix.  Then add the small can of sliced mushrooms plus juice.  Then, pour the contents of the skillet over the rice mixture, then cover with lid and put in oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour… Mix up and serve.  Feeds 6 as a side dish easily!
